Christmas stories, anyone?

Posted on November 30, 2009.

Just in case you missed it in Sunday’s paper, the rules are up for The Transcript’s annual Christmas Story contest, which I am coordinating this year.
It’s pretty clear it’s a big deal. I’ve taken several phone calls in the last week or two from folks wondering about this year’s contest. Entries are due two weeks [...]

Their own worst critic

Sorry.

Not enough brain cells.
I’ll do better tomorrow.

Surviving Halloween

Posted on November 2, 2009.

Halloween used to be more simple. You had some trick-or-treating down a few nearby streets and then got back home at a fairly reasonable hour, because there was a five-out-of-seven chance that the holiday fell on a school night.
Maybe you stayed up slightly later than usual, but you were back at it the next day.
Now [...]
