11:15 ice update
I’d say not a lot has changed at the Potts family ranch in Moore. The ice is maybe a little thicker on the cars, perhaps 1/8 inch maybe nearing 1/4 inch although its a little hard to measure accurately.
The road is still not slick at all, just wet, and the wind chill feels like it’s dropped quite a bit even since an hour or two ago. It’s a chilly wind blowing almost straight out of the east, sort of an unusual direction.
Not much precipitation is falling, what is coming down is part sleet, part freezing rain. The National Weather Service’s latest radar image shows the heaviest areas on a line between about Clinton and Wichita Falls, running on a line just east of the Lawton area. The whole storm is moving northeast so we figure to get into some of that worse precipitation in the next few hours.
Power outages continue to be minimal. OG&E reports about 100 in Warr Acres and otherwise the map is clear- — for now.
If you can stay home, stay home.
