3:30ish update
From our news partners up the road at KOCO Channel 5 at about 3:20 p.m.: It now appears for at least the next few hours the precipitation in the Norman and Moore areas may change over to being predominantly sleet instead of freezing rain.
The good news is that gives the trees and power lines a break from their load as the sleet does not stick to them like the freezing rain does. That possibly could give us less of a chance for widespread power outages.
The bad news that will make road conditions get a lot worse in the next few hours.
The storm is expected to continue until near midnight, then have a break for much of the overnight hours before resuming tomorrow in the form of snow.
More than 2,000 outages already are being reported south of us, predominantly in Purcell, Maysville and Pauls Valley, in addition to thousands to the west and south of the metro area.
