Do you still say Goodmorning?

One morning as I was walking into a break room I said Goodmorning to a person pouring coffee and waited to hear the customary Goodmorning to you. However, after five seconds and no response was given, I just stared wondering what the problem was. I know I said it loud enough to hear, so I assumed that it was just too early for them to speak. It wasn’t anything major, but it got me thinking about the type of manners that are taught in society today. In my mind that is just plain rude. Am I right or is that just the way we are today

i too, think society has become very anti-social in even the most basic things regarding manners. it used to be customary to greet another when coming into a room. Now people dont even bother to look up. I have been guilty of this also, so there’s no judging here. I would love to get back to the old ways of getting and giving a smile, a good morning, and have a nice evening. It cost nothing and adds value to the moment and maybe a little joy to someone else’s day.

Michael..The answer to the question you pose is: Yes and Yes.

Your post begs the question, “What, about daily living in today’s society, and in terms of everyday life and occurrences, really bothers you?”

“What common acts and omissions of others causes you to want to blow your stack, or at least lash back with an appropriate retort or response?”

If you, or others on this site, would ask those type questions, pose those type questions, or encourage those type exchanges, there might be a little more action hereabout.

Some of the “public” is doing pretty well; those from the press seem a bit hamstrung in their approach to this project. That, and the unexplained problems with allowing anything like “blogging” is a little disheartening.

Anyway, the “powers that be” need to put you in charge, ’cause they sure aren’t getting it done.
