Health care blockers

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Once again Democrats are their own worst enemy. With a chance to pass a health care reform bill with the public option that would allow Americans to choose which type of health care they wanted, Congress shot the bill down without as much as a kitten fight.
It was kind of sad and funny in many ways. After almost an entire year of yapping about having the super majority in congress, Democrats allowed themselves to be pushed around and punked like they had been for the previous eight years.
As much as I would love to blame conservatives and Republicans for this (Charles Grassley, Jim Bunning, Orrin Hatch, etc..) they are not running the Congress. Well, at least they are not supposed to be, but they have found a way to take control again. And Democrats such as Max Baucus, Kent Conrad, Blanche Lincoln, Bill Nelson and Tom Carper let it take place with their vote this week. They will have to live with the results. Sadly, so will we. But if health care reform does not pass, who knows for how long.
